LO&SONS
If you’re looking (1) to support an AAPI-founded company, (2) to refresh your everyday bag rotation, and (3) to invest in a versatile, well-designed product - look no further. Here’s the breakdown of my experience with each Lo & Sons product.
Last year, Lo & Sons generously gifted me four items:
The Rowledge Backpack in Black Exterior / Gold Hardware / Camel Interior
The Small Waverly 2 in Black Nappa Leather Exterior / Gold Hardware / Grey Interior
The Large Waverly 2 in Ivory Saffiano Leather Exterior / Gold Hardware / Camel Interior
The Leather Wallet in Ivory Saffiano Leather Exterior / Gold Hardware / Camel Interior
This is an incredibly elegant backpack, something I never thought I’d describe a backpack as! The exterior is a black nylon with Nappa leather elements and yellow gold hardware. It has a lovely structure to it that feels sturdy and functional.

One of my favorite things about this is all the pockets! If you love a backpack with built-in organizational tools, you’ll love this. I love built-ins because it means I have the option of forgoing additional pouches and therefore able to pack lighter.
Removable organizer
This brings me to the downfall of the bag - it’s heavy. I was initially using it as my work bag but my commute is approximately a one mile walk through the city. The straps are soft and comfortable, but they weren’t enough to help maintain this bag as my everyday workhorse. However, I would recommend this as a workbag to someone whose commute is more like a car ride and a brief walk to the office. If I worked more of an office job and wore business attire every day, this bag would be my first pick. It’s also a fantastic travel companion, but again, be mindful of the weight.
Overall The Rowledge is for you if you…
Want something that feels classy and well-made
Enjoy a backpack that does the organizing for you
I absolutely LOVE my Waverly 2 purses. My favorite thing about them is the versatility they offer without compromising style and aesthetic. You can wear them as a crossbody, shoulder bag, fanny pack, and a clutch!! The design is also classic. I’m usually not one for trends and like to invest in items that I can see myself utilizing indefinitely.

Ivory Saffiano leather in size large
Saffiano leather (left) versus Nappa leather (right)
I got to try both types of leather and I love each one for different reasons. The Nappa leather is buttery and soft. The quality of materials that Lo & Sons uses is unmatched. The downside of Nappa leather is that it’s much more delicate. One accidental graze against a piece of jewelry or key can leave a scuff. Would it stop me from purchasing their Nappa leather in the future? Absolutely not! I know I just need to be extra mindful when I pull this item out. The Saffiano leather is a much more durable texture. It’s not indestructible by any means but it’s more forgiving. If I was going out to run errands on a rainy day or knew that my purse might get tossed around a little, I’d definitely reach for this one.
Size comparison
Let’s discuss the different sizes. This is a low profile purse so I would only recommend this to minimal packers. The small comfortably fits the essentials and that’s it. My phone (iPhone 11 Pro), wallet essentials (two cards, some cash), keys, lip balm, and hand sanitizer or lotion. The large is a little more spacious, allowing all that the small fits + a couple more items.
Overall the Waverly 2 is for you if you…
Value versatility (4-in-1 purse!) and timelessness
Pack lightly for everyday
A solid choice for full-sized wallet lovers! Just like the rest of Lo & Sons products, it is impeccably constructed and thoughtfully designed. Not to mention, the zipper makes for a secure wallet. The quality of materials is unimpeachable. If you’re a wallet maximalist, this is for you. Personally, it’s a little too big for me. Considering how much I love the Waverly 2, it’s no surprise that I don’t get much use out of this wallet. It would never fit inside! There are really no downfalls in this product, it’s simply a matter of personal preference.

Overall the Leather Wallet is for you if you…
Carry several cards, cash, and coins on an everyday basis
Want a secure and high quality wallet
On my radar to try in the future: The Catalina line. It looks like the perfect weekender/duffel bag. It would probably make a great bag as a parent too (but I’m nowhere near that right now). In summary, I can wholeheartedly recommend Lo & Sons if you’re someone who values incredibly high quality, classic products but have no interest in paying for designer premiums. You absolutely get what you pay for with this brand, and then some!
